New Job, Same Place

I’m a bit of a restless employee who is always looking for new things to work on and new challenges to tackle.Ā  So, this recent change should hold me for a while.

I’ve accepted a role as the lead functional architect for the Research and Development division of my biotechnology employer.Ā  What this means is that I’m responsible for overseeing the technology direction of the R&D project portfolio and will be contributing to the division’s strategic plans. I have a small team of excellent architects who will be working for me as we figure out how to help our scientific teams use technology in ways that make drug discovery and development more efficient and cost-effective.

While I’m no longer being paid to develop software or be a full-time project architect, I consider technology exploration a critical part of my job and have no intentions of giving that up! So, I hope that you’ll see more of the same on this blog.Ā  I plan on keeping up my steady posting schedule and will continue to investigate technologies, discuss lessons learned and do my best to share interesting stuff.

Just figured I’d share this so that if my blog topics veer all over, you have an idea why!
